MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
I studied Fine Arts and received an Associate’s Degree in Art from Herkimer County Community College.
One of my art professors, Guy Corriero, taught me the fundamentals of drawing and painting. I also completed courses in Art History. More recently, I have taken painting courses in portraiture and landscape at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute through the Community Education Program under instructor, Yulia Levkovich. Her methodology is Realist Art. I work predominantly in oil and strive for realism in my subject matter. I am influenced by the Impressionist painters as well as more modern painters such as realistic painters, Winslow Homer and Andrew Wyeth. I also rely on the Dutch Masters, Rembrandt and Vermeer to guide me in my painting with an emphasis on the use of light and shadow.
I have participated in the Little Falls Artwalk for about five years and always look forward to promoting art and creativity in our beloved city.
As I continue to hone my skills, I look forward to future Art Walks and continued progress in my own art.
