MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was fortunate enough to have worked as the Director of the John Stobart Gallery in Boston during the 1990’s.
It was during this time I came to know John Stobart personally. John Stobart’s insight and suggestions allowed me to better understand the techniques of color, form, and contrasts which bring a painting to “life”. Additionally, the availability of being able to study his techniques and original works were pivotal for my growth as an artist.
My painting’s subjects are always derived from the natural world.
The pattern of clouds in the sky and the lay of the land and its topography will set a scene to be studied. Then the vegetation, the trees and the grasses the rocks and the water will embellish the land. Finally when the elements are decided upon the balance of color and their hues will be experimented with and sometimes painted and repainted until a solution is found or often stumbled upon.
