About Stephanie Sheppard

Email 818-331-3008

Stephanie Sheppard is a free lance digital photographer, who recently re-located back to the East Coast after thirty-seven years of photographing in Los Angeles.

Little Falls became home in October, 2019. The new typography and landscape drew a curiosity that was lacking for her in California.

As a self-taught photographer from the age of seven, she learned her craft watching films and learning from mentors who were her greatest teachers growing up. Those teachers included her father, an architect and photographer, in addition to family friends who were professional photographers. Stephanie attended high school as a charter member of the famed Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. There she studied the cello, theatre, dance, classical guitar and voice. Upon graduation she pursued a career as a professional actress and a folksinger. Her formal education in photography was spent at a community college in California.

Stephanie has won many International awards and has shown her photographs in public installations and galleries in California, St. Louis, and New York.

She has also had numerous photographs published. Currently her focus is on creating a new body of work illustrating the transition from city to country, reflecting the new surroundings she now finds herself photographing. This year, two of her photographs were selected for the winter show 2021 at the Adirondack Artists Guild; “Into the Clouds” and “Abstract Birch Trees.”

The greatest influencers on her art have been Alfred Stieglitz, Robert Adams and Georgia O’Keefe, for her incredible botanical perspectives.
