DEIDRE TURNER
Growing up in post-war Britain, Deirdre Turner’s early childhood was filled with the bleak grays and beiges of a British boarding school. Deirdre’s whimsical pen and watercolor paintings perhaps reflect a desire to re-frame those early years in brighter colors.
Deirdre’s 20 years as a pre-kindergarten teacher influenced her art. The vibrancy and energy of the young children inspired Dee’s use of color, whimsy, and spontaneity that so
characterizes her work. Deirdre displays her work in galleries in Old Forge, Saratoga Springs and Little Falls. Her work has also been accepted into several juried art shows in the Mohawk Valley.
The artist lives with her husband, Peter, near Little Falls, where
they raised two children.
